CHERKIZOVO BRAND RECOGNIZED AS WELL-KNOWN IN RUSSIA

Intellectual Property Rights Court has recognized Cherkizovo brand of the similarly-named biggest Russian meat holding as a well-known brand in the country, despite refusal on the part of the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent). In particular, this status has been given to such goods as pork and semi-finished products from this meat, as well as ham and sausage products. AO Cherkizovo Group has sent an application to Rospatent with a request to recognize its goods as well-known ones in December 2023. The agency gave a negative response. According to the document, the agency said that one of the reasons for the refusal was the insufficiency of the results of the opinion poll about the famousness of the Cherkizovo products named above.
