RAW MILK COST PRICE IN MARCH INCREASED BY 0.8%
4 May 2023 |
Milk production cost index (RMCI) amounted to 100.8% in March 2023, the cost price grew by 0.8% during the month but it remained 3.6% lower than the level of March 2022. Such preliminary data was prepared by Soyuzmoloko analytical centre. The increase of the milk production cost in March was caused by the price increase for some feed components (protein group, combined animal feed), growth of electricity tariffs, sustained rise of prices for fuels and lubricants, and continued weakening of the national currency. At the same time, operating costs of dairy cattle management remain lower compared to March 2022, mainly due to maintaining lower feed price.
