ASTRAKHAN REGION BECOMES A POTATO PRODUCTION LEADER

The increase of potato yield has brought Astrakhan Region to the first place in the production of this crop in the Southern Federal District. The efforts of the region’s agrarians, government programs, and investment projects of the agro-industrial complex are giving their results. 200 thousand tonnes of potato have been harvested by August 15, 2025 – up 15% on the same period of last year. Potato harvest is going on in the region. Approbation has been carried out to confirm the varietal identity of Flamingo potato variety. The visual inspection of the plants and their tubers has shown their complete conformance with the subject variety and the quality of the planting potatoes. Specialists carry out field inspections during blossoming when the signs of the variety are most evident.
