2 September 2025 |
Russia is planning to introduce administrative liability in the form of fines for violations committed when prescribing veterinary drugs. Such a clause is included into the 2030 plan for preventing the spread of antimicrobial resistance. The implementation of this measure will require a special federal law. Two relevant agricultural agencies – the Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance have been appointed the executors. The rules for the sale of some veterinary drugs, including antibacterial agents, have also changed in Russia since this March. They are available to users only on prescription now. Fines for selling them without prescription can reach 200 thousand rubles depending on the merchant category.
