FIRST MRNA FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE VACCINE IN THE WORLD ISSUED
6 August 2025 |
Australian scientists have issued the first mRNA foot-and-mouth disease vaccine in the world. Vaccines of the above-named type have a number of differences from simple live or killed ones. First of all, they do not contain virus particles. They also teach animal cells to produce proteins which start immune response to foot-and-mouth disease without penetrating the cell nucleus. The project was carried out during five years, and its financing volume amounted to $20 million. As Australia is free of foot-and-mouth disease, a farm in Germany where the outbreaks of this disease had been found earlier was chosen for examining the immunobiological drug. The product successfully passed the examinations at the German farms. Source: https://rosng.ru/post/avstraliycy-vypustili-pervuyu-v-mire-mrnk-vakcinu-ot-yaschura
