GEORGIA SETS A MULTY-YEAR RECORD IN MILK IMPORTS FROM RUSSIA

Georgia increased the purchases of milk from Russia to the highest level over the last 17 years this February. 132.4 thousand tonnes of the product were delivered from Russia by volume. In money terms, exports amounted to 664.7 thousand dollars, also 5 times as much as during the same period of the last year. With these figures, Russia kept its status of the biggest milk supplier to Georgia. A month ago, it was the leader in this market, too. Its share was 33.7% of the total export. The share of other countries which ranked in the top five suppliers was significantly smaller. Poland was the second in terms of deliveries with 17.5%. Azerbaijan follows with 14.8%. France took the fourth place with the share of 11.9%. Belarus which accounted for 10.9 per cent of exports rounds out the top five suppliers.
