MORE CHUM SALMON TO BE GROWN IN THE RIVER PASTURES OF PRIMORYE TERRITORY
14 March 2026 |
Three new fish-farming areas with chum salmon will appear in Primorye Territory in the Lidovka, Rudnaya, and Tumanovka rivers of Olga and Dalnegorsk municipal districts. Based on the conclusions of the fish-husbandry science, these areas were formed to develop pastural salmon farming. Though there is no fish farming activity on the mentioned rivers now, their characteristics allow for building successful salmon farming plants with the capacity of up to 20 million young chum salmons per year. Chum salmon, a species of Pacific salmons the natural population of which is small in these rivers, was chosen for breeding. The appearance of new fish farming areas means investments in the development of the sector, building enterprises along rivers, and additional jobs for locals.Source: https://www.agroxxi.ru/zhivotnovodstvo/novosti/bolshe-kety-budut-vyraschivat-v-rechnyh-pastbischah-primorskogo-kraja.html
