MORE OIL CROPS TO BE GROWN IN RUSSIA IN 2024

According to the forecast of OleoScope information analysis agency, areas under four key oil crops will increase to more than 17 million hectares this year. A year earlier, they amounted to 16 million 965 thousand hectares. There will be increased areas under soybean (to 4 million hectares), rapeseed (2.25-2.35 million hectares), and oil flax (to 1.45-1.55 million hectares), while areas under sunflower will decrease to 9.55-9.7 million hectares.
In 2023, oil crop processing capacity in Russia was about 31.3 million tons. This year, according to analysts, the capacity will increase to 33 million tons.
