NATIONAL STANDARD FOR HALAL PRODUCT CERTIFICATION APPEARS IN RUSSIA

According to RusAccreditation, a Conformity Assessment. Requirements to Halal Certification Bodies national standard will take effect on September 1st 2024. The corresponding order was issued by Rosstandart. GOST lays down the requirements to the activity of bodies certifying halal products, processes and services, taking into account also halal standards of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s Standardization Organization (GSO) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).  

The standard was being prepared for several years. This year, RusAccreditation will also participate in the development of new drafts of the national halal standards as part of Halal Products and Services technical committee which is under formation now.
