NEW YEAR TABLE BECOMES MORE EXPENSIVE

For today, the prices for the traditional set of food products for the Russian New Year table have increased by 12% compared to the same period of the last year. As of this September, herring is the holiday product which increased in price most of all, by 19.9%. Hard and semi-hard cheeses, which are, in particular, used for the festive table both as separate dishes and as the ingredients of different salads, have shown approximately the same growth, by 19.6%. Lightly salted salmonids have also increased in price by 16.8%. This is due to higher prices of raw materials, the growth of logistics costs and housing services and utilities costs, as well as the increase of payroll expenses.
