OIL FLAX HARVEST GROWS BY MORE THAN 16 PERCENT IN RUSSIA

In 2024, Russian farmers yielded a record harvest of oil flax. It increased by 16.8% comparing to 2023 and amounted to 1.35 million tonnes. Last year’s harvest has become second largest in terms of volume in the entire history of cultivating this crop after the record harvest of 2022, when 1.73 million tonnes were harvested. According to statistics, last year area sown to flax increased by 18.4% in Russia and reached 1.67 million hectares. The leaders in flax harvest were Altai Territory, Omsk Region, Kurgan Region, Rostov Region, and Chelyabinsk Region. These regions accounted for 47.5% of the total harvest of the crop.
