RUSSIA AND ARMENIA DISCUSS NEW AGRO-INDUSTRIAL AND SELECTION PROJECTS

Talks between the Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Marina Afonina and the Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan took place in Armenia. Special attention was paid to the development of cooperation in selection and seed farming. More than 10 agreements on key crops have already been signed between the scientific institutions of the two countries. Additional documents are planned to be concluded in 2026, including the programs of joint crop variety tests. Besides, the parties have discussed the prospects of joint projects in viticulture and winemaking. The development of agricultural education and personnel training has become an important topic of discussion. As part of the visit, the Russian delegation visited the National Agrarian University of Armenia and the Scientific Centre of Agribiotechnologies, where they considered the possibilities of extending cooperation with the Russian research institutes in selection.
