RUSSIA’S CHEESE AND CHEESE ANALOGUE PRODUCTION GROWS BY 7.2%

According to the report of Milknews analytical centre, Russian manufacturers produced 602.4 thousand tonnes of cheeses and cheese analogues in January-July 2024, up 7.2% on the same period of 2023. Cheese production has increased by 8.4% (to 488.8 thousand tonnes), that of cheese analogues has grown by 2.2% (to 113.5 thousand tonnes).The consumption of this product category has increased by 9.4% in 7 months, to 642.4 thousand tonnes. At the same time, cheese consumption has shown a growth of 12%, and that of cheese analogues has decreased by 2.9%.
By the end of July 2024, the reserves of cheese analogues have turned out to be 19.9 thousand tonnes, down 1% on 2023. Cheese reserves have amounted to 62.8 thousand tonnes, up 3% on last year.
