THE EXPORT DUTY ON WHEAT FROM RUSSIA WILL BE REDUCED BY MORE THAN 22% STARTING SEPTEMBER 2

The new customs duty rates will be set from September 2 to September 8, 2026, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports. The export duty will be reduced: for wheat — from 1,012.1 rubles to 787.5 rubles per tonne; for barley — it will remain zero; for corn — from 607.3 rubles to 406.5 rubles per tonne. The duties for the new period were calculated based on indicative prices per tonne: wheat — $228.6 (previously $229.5), barley — $189.3 (previously $191.0), corn — $220.6 (previously $221.2). The grain демпфер mechanism has been in effect in Russia since June 2, 2021. It provides for floating duties on the export of wheat, corn and barley and the return of funds received from them to subsidize agricultural producers. Starting from July 25, 2025, the Russian government increased the base price used to calculate the export duty on barley and corn by 1,000 rubles — to 17,785 rubles per ton. Export duties also apply to oilseeds.
