THE EXPORTS OF RUSSIAN WHEAT REACH 2.2 MILLION TONNES IN JANUARY

According to SovEcon analytical centre, the forecast for the exports of Russian wheat in January is increased by 100 thousand tonnes — from 2.1 to 2.2 million tonnes, down 1.2 million tonnes on December.The forecast for maize exports has also been revised— it has increased by 50 thousand tonnes, to 300 thousand tonnes. The forecast for barley exports remains unchanged — 150 thousand tonnes.
Russia remains the biggest grain exporter in the world, taking up more than 20% of the global market. The exports of grain crops can reach 55–60 million tonnes in the agricultural year of 2024/25. The largest buyers are Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, as well as African, Asian, and Middle Eastern countries.
