THE FEDERAL SERVICE FOR VETERINARY AND PHYTOSANITARY SURVEILLANCE CALLS FOR TRANSITION TO BIOPESTICIDES
19 April 2025 |
The head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Sergey Dankvert has spoken out in favour of the decrease in the use of agrochemicals and the expansion of using biopesticides. It has been proposed to use them as a replacement of neonicotinoids which are widely used for plant protection but are already banned in many countries due to environmental damage. Dankvert has emphasized that biopesticides, being substances of natural origin, are safer for environment. Transition to them will allow Russia to position itself as an eco-friendly country and will simplify agricultural exports. The head of the agency has already raised the issue of simplifying the registration of biopesticides earlier. He has also pointed out the harm of the excessive use of chemical plant protection agents.Source: https://rosng.ru/post/rosselhoznadzor-predlozhil-rasshirit-primenenie-biopesticidov
