THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE PRESENTED AN AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE PLAN FOR 2024

The Ministry of Agriculture has drafted an order on approval of the agricultural insurance plan for 2024. The document is posted on the federal portal of projects of regulatory legal acts.
Changes are expected in the procedure of calculating subsidies for livestock insurance. In particular, the analysis of the livestock insured with government support in 2018-2022 showed that total accrued insurance premium under insurance agreements accepted for subsidizing is on average 60% less than the premium based tariffs equal to the maximum limits of subsidization rates, the explanatory note to the document says.  
Changes are also made in regard to the insurance of commercial aquaculture facilities. For them a coefficient equal to one is introduced.
The document contains an estimated need for federal budget resources for governmentally supported agricultural insurance. For crop farming it amounts to 3.68 bln. rubles, for animal husbandry to 1.6 bln. rubles, for commercial aquaculture it is 117 million rubles.
