29 August 2026 |
In the Stavropol Territory, systematic work continues to increase the share of seeds of domestic sugar beet breeding, including the establishment of experimental sowings of promising hybrids. In April 2026, experimental sowings of sugar beet hybrids of domestic breeding were established on the fields of LLC “Kolkhoz Plemzavod imeni Chapayeva” (Kochubeevsky District), with the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, the Stavropol branch of the Rosselkhozcenter, and representatives of the originators. The goal of the work is to objectively assess the productivity of these hybrids, their resistance to diseases, and their adaptation to the soil and climatic conditions of the region. The demonstration crops occupied an area of 3 hectares, and the hybrid seeds for the trials were provided by two originators. The Pervomayskaya Breeding and Experimental Station (Krasnodar Krai) provided the seeds of the Korvet, Pervomaysky, PSS‑100 and Prestige hybrids. The SoyuzSemSvekla breeding and genetic center (Voronezh Oblast) offered the Gorizont and Tsunami hybrids for testing. The demo crops clearly demonstrate to farmers the potential of new promising hybrids in the region’s conditions. To date, the share of hybrids of domestic sugar beet breeding in the crops amounts to 14%.Source: https://www.agroxxi.ru/rossiiskie-agronovosti/dolja-gibridov-otechestvennoi-selekcii-saharnoi-svekly-v-posevah-stavropolja-sostavljaet-14.html
