DISCOUNTED VAT RATE TO BE EXTENDED TO ALL FARM CROP SEEDS

Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture has drafted a government executive order to extend the list of seed codes subject to VAT at the rate of 10% at sale. The document has been drawn up due to tax amendments. Discounted VAT rate will apply to the treated seeds of farm crops, earlier it was only applicable for sunflower and maize. Barley, bean, pea, 4 types of wheat, meslin, buckwheat, panicum, rye, oat, and other crop species have been added to the list.
The norm will be used retrospectively. It will apply to the sales of seeds treated with seed dressers from 8 August 2024 through 31 December 2029.
