FREIGHT EXPRESS ARRANGED FROM TATARSTAN

Freight Express project which is aimed at attracting additional cargo volumes involves Kukmor railway station. The first lot of barley with a total weight of more than 3.4 thousand tonnes was sent for export from the station. To arrange transportation at Kukmor Elevator, railway sleepers were replaced, railway switches restored, and new rail car scales installed. Travel time to Novorossiysk station will be 4 days, from there the barley will be sent to Egypt by sea.
The opening stage of the project provides that about 48 grain cars will be dispatched monthly by Gorky Railway. The route of the next run of Freight Express will be by October Railway with the further export of products through the seaports of North-West.
