HOPS PRODUCTION MAY GROW SEVEN TIMES AS MUCH BY 2030 IN RUSSIA
27 April 2026 |
It may amount to about 340 tonnes this year – more than in 2024 and 2025, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of RF Andrei Razin said. He emphasized that a significant progress had already been achieved in barley production, and active work on hops was underway. So, for example, the area of hop fields is expected to be increased to 589 ha this year, almost half again as much as last year. Guaranteed sale of products remains the key condition for the development of hop growing. That is why interaction between agrarians and brewing companies is especially important, as well as direct business participation in the production of raw materials. Hop yield growth potential is expected to be at 2,000 tonnes by 2030, i.e. more than seven times. Russia has got everything it needs for that: expertise, specialists, land resources, and state support tools, the deputy minister has pointed out.
