MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE: AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION HIGHER THAN PLANNED TARGETS

Last year, the production of agricultural and food industry products exceeded planned targets. So, for example, agricultural production increased by 13% on the basic 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut said. Crop farming which increased by 20% was the main driver. In particular, the top third grain yield in history, 144.6 million tonnes, was harvested last year. Livestock production has increased by 4%. Positive dynamics in agriculture allowed of increasing the production of food and processing industry by almost 12%. As a result, the level of self-sufficiency in key products increased. So, for example, the self-sufficiency in grain was 169.9%, in sugar – 104.9%, in vegetable oil – 236.2%, in meat and meat products – 101.7%, in fish and fish products – 122.8%. The level of self-sufficiency in potato has exceeded the threshold of the Food Security Doctrine and reached 97.9%. The results of the state program of agricultural development show that agro-industrial complex continues to develop, the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted.
