MORE THAN 2 MILLION HECTARES OF DISUSED LANDS INCTODUCED INTO AGRICULTURE OVER THREE YEARS IN RUSSIA

The head of Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut summarized the interim results of the Land program. The program was approved in 2021, and over 2 million hectares have been introduced into agriculture since that time. The plan for 10 years of the program is at least 13.2 million hectares of farmlands.
“We hope that the program will be extended after 2030, now we have the opportunity to work till 2030. We are preparing for the extension now. Accordingly, we think that it is necessary to continue this work further and not only introduce lands into agriculture, but of course also work on the fertility of our lands”, Oksana Lut said during the external meeting of the State Duma’s committee for agro-industrial complex as part of the Siberian Field Day 2024 in Altai Territory.
