NOVOSIBIRSK REGION COMPLETES SPRING CROPS SOWING ON 856,000 HECTARES

The main works on spring grain and pulse crops sowing have finished by 1 June in Novosibirsk Region. The total area sown is 856,000 hectares. As Novosibirsk Statistic Service reports, 65% of these lands are used by agricultural organizations. Apart from grain crops, agrarians have planted potato on 13,200 hectares and field vegetables on 2,700 hectares. Private people’s households are the leaders in this segment: more than 80% of all potato and vegetable plantings are accounted for by them. Now, growers have to prepare for harvesting. The farms of Novosibirsk Region are planning to start harvesting the grown products as early as in August. The future result of the work of all the agrarians of the region directly depends on the quality of sowing carried out.
