OVER 4 MILLION TONNES OF VEGETABLES HARVESTED IN FORMAL SECTOR

According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the yield of field vegetables has reached about 3 million tonnes since the beginning of this year, up 72 thousand tonnes on the same period of the last year. Among the regions, the leaders in field vegetable production are Astrakhan Region, Volgograd Region, and Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory, as well as Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and Dagestan.
More than 1.1 million tonnes of vegetables were harvested in greenhouses, in particular, 487 thousand tonnes of tomatoes and 631 thousand tonnes of cucumbers. In greenhouse vegetable production, the best performance was reached by Lipetsk Region, Moscow Region, Kaluga Region, and Volgograd Region, Krasnodar Territory, and Stavropol Territory.
