RUSSIA HAS INCREASED ITS EXPORTS OF FISH AND SEAFOOD BY 27%.

Last year, about 2 million tons of fish and seafood were sent abroad, and more than 1.5 million tons have been sent since the beginning of this year. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at the plenary session of the International Fisheries Forum. In the first half of the year, Russia increased exports of fish and seafood by 27% in value terms. Moreover, the supply of both frozen fish increased by 51% and crustaceans by 22%. Last year, exports of fish and seafood exceeded $6 billion in value. The main buyers were China, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Belarus, and Japan. This year, the list of the largest importers has hardly changed. Currently, the production of aquatic biological resources amounts to 1.5 million tons. According to Rosrybolovstvo’s forecasts, this year the production volume will be comparable to the level of the previous year, which will fully meet the domestic market demand and cover all export obligations.
