RUSSIA’S MILK PRODUCTION CAN REACH 38.9 MILLION TONNES BY 2030

This was said by the head of Milk and Meat Cattle Farming and Biotechnology Unit of the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Olga Lastochkina. By 2030, raw milk production is expected to increase by 6.5 million tonnes compared to 2021 and to be 38.9 million tonnes.In January-August of the current year, farms have increased milk production by 3.3%. In formal sector, the growth has amounted to 447 thousand tonnes, milk yield has increased by 5%. 3.3 million extra tonnes of milk will be provided for by about 300 investment projects which are planned to be implemented by 2030.
The Ministry of Agriculture is going to focus on such points of growth as technological modernization of existing production facilities and the construction of new modern complexes, strengthening of animal selection and breeding, forage reserve enhancement, and biosecurity at farms.
