RUSSIAN FERTILIZERS EXPORTS GROW BY 16% IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE YEAR

Russia increased its cross-border supplies of mineral fertilizers by 16% in money terms in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period of last year – to $3.6 billion. Exports amounted to 9.6 million tonnes in volume terms. According to Agroexport federal centre, the exports of complex fertilizers exceeded $1.6 billion in January-March this year (+16% year on year). Brazil ($340 million, +14%) and India ($338 million, +27%) remain the largest importers. Ethiopia is the third with 186 million, 2.7 times as much as a year earlier. There is also a significant growth of supplies to RSA (2.4 times), Vietnam, Argentina, and Turkey. The supplies of potassium fertilizers increased by 45% and reached $1.1 billion. China became the key market and increased purchasing by 66% – $377 million. The top-3 also includes Brazil ($170 million) and India ($169 million, growth of 3.7 times).
