TATARSTAN TO RECEIVE ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR LAND RECLAMATION

The Government of Russia approved the redistribution of 535.5 mln. rubles for land reclamation. These funds will be sent to 26 regions to partially reimburse expenses of growers for land reclamation.
The money will be received by Bashkiria, Buryatia, Dagestan, Republic of Mari El, Ingushetia, Tyva, North Ossetia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, as well as Astrakhan Region, Bryansk Region, Voronezh Region, Kirov Region, Kostroma Region, Kurgan Region, Lipetsk Region, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Novgorod Region, Novosibirsk Region, Smolensk Region, Penza Region, Pskov Region, Tula Region, Ulyanovsk Region, Chelyabinsk Region, and Jewish Autonomous Region. According to the document, Tatarstan will receive 88 mln. 358.9 ths. rubles.
It is expected that due to the funding, irrigation and drainage systems and hydraulic engineering structures will be built and reconstructed in the regions, and lands will be cleared of trees and grassland vegetation. This will contribute to the expansion of the agricultural land fund, ensure the sustainable development of agribusiness and achieve the country’s food security goals.
