In the current season, the volume of sugar beet harvest in the fields of one of the country’s major agricultural holdings will increase by 12.5% compared to last year and will reach 1.28 million tons. This trend is due not only to the large sown areas of 28.9 thousand hectares, but also to a noticeable increase in the planned yield. At present, the harvesting campaign has already passed the initial stage, covering about 6.2 thousand hectares. The total harvest of root crops exceeded 276,000 tons, with a target yield of 443 centners per hectare, which is significantly higher than last year’s 415 centners. Farmers note the favorable conditions for producing a high‑quality harvest, which will soon be sent for processing. For buyers of confectionery factories and bakeries, the increase in the raw material base means a potential stabilization of white sugar prices in the medium term. A sufficient volume of domestic beets at processing plants reduces the risks of a shortage of this key sweet ingredient, allowing food industry enterprises to more confidently plan the cost of baked goods and desserts.
