THE PACE OF RUSSIA’S VINEYARD ESTABLISHMENT AMONG THE HIGHEST IN THE WORLD

Russia’s vineyard establishment rates are among the highest in the world, the Deputy Prime Minister of RF Dmitry Patrushev says. Winemaking is not only a traditional direction of the agro-industrial complex today, but also a development driver for domestic tourism. More than five years have passed since the adoption of the On Winegrowing and Winemaking in the Russian Federation law. Over this time, approach to winemaking has qualitatively changed in our country, the level of professionalism has increased in the branch, rules have been developed that meet world standards. All this has a positive effect on production performance: our vineyard establishment rates are among the highest in the world, and wine production is increasing. Due to a record yield of grapes and the growth of production by 11.5%, the market share of Russian wines approached 63% in 2025, and the sales of domestic products continue to grow.
