THE SHARE OF FOOD‑GRADE WHEAT IN THE 2026 HARVEST IS EXPECTED TO BE 78 %.

As of September 19, 2026, operational data fr om the Russian Ministry of Agriculture record a harvest of more than 90 million tons of wheat, with 92% of the sown area harvested. The market situation in September 2026 demonstrates a stable premium for food grain. The price gap between 3rd‑ and 5th‑grade wheat in the southern regions of the Russian Federation ranges from 1,100 to 2,100 rubles per ton, which indicates high demand for milling grain from processors and exporters. It is expected that the share of food‑grade wheat (classes 3 and 4) in the total harvest volume for 2026 will be about 78%, which is higher than the average for the past five years. This is due to favourable conditions in key southern regions (Krasnodar Territory, Rostov Region, Stavropol Territory), wh ere grain with a high gluten content was produced. At the same time, heavy rainfall in the Central Federal District during the ripening period led to a decline in grain quality in some farms, increasing the share of feed wheat (class 5 and lower) in this macroregion.
