RUSSIA WILL DEVELOP A LIST OF ANIMALS TO BE TAGGED

The Ministry of Agriculture proposes that the list of animals to be identified and accounted for, which was adopted in 2016, be recognized as no longer valid. The Ministry's draft order is available on regulation.gov.ru. A new list of animals to be tagged and accounted for will be set by the government.
Each animal or group of animals in the system will be assigned a unique alphanumeric identification number (UIN). The animal card in the system will contain information on the sex, age, species, breed, as well as the means of tagging the animal, the place of keeping and the owner's details, among other things. There are also plans to record information on all veterinary activities.
The process of registering an animal will be free of charge for the owner. And the owner may choose its own tagging device and purchase it at its own expense. This can be a plastic tag, a subcutaneous microchip, a bolus, a ring or a collar.
